Five types of rocks were tested using five different amounts of explosives (ANFO). The following results were obtained AMOUNT OF EXPLOSIVE (Kg) (ANFO) ROCK TYPE 1 2 20 10.20 9.65 09.20 08.95 09.00 08.40 10.35 15.22 14.61 13.22 15.13 14.43 14.99 15.02 30 20.53 19.24 18.61 18.09 19.87 20.05 20.12 25.17 23.22 23.89 24.01 23.99 24.33 24.10 40 30.01 29.63 28.17 29.94 28.49 30.17 29.73 35.66 35.13 33.89 34.37 34.11 33.01 33.90 50 39.73 40.13 38.97 39.17 39.70 40.78 39.55 45.11 44.33 44.23 43.18 43.78 45.99 44.00 60 49.19 50.34 50.33 48.27 48.44 49.11 49.44 55.00 55.66 55.13 54.24 54.98 53.99 54.05 3 4 5 20.33 20.99 19.19 19.79 18.99 19.55 19.00 24.00 25.11 23.17 24.77 23.80 23.99 24.20 30.90 30.09 29.69 30.50 28.11 28.77 29.00 30.00 30.12 29.99 29.11 28.00 28.65 29.20 35.41 34.34 33.35 35.00 34.11 33.33 34.00 40.09 39.89 39.14 38.70 38.09 38.77 40.10 40.13 40.00 39.11 39.00 38.90 38.58 39.02 44.09 45.01 44.43 43.78 43.11 44.00 45.20 50.01 49.87 48.10 48.51 49.60 48.99 49.40 50.22 50.51 49.00 49.19 48.67 48.99 49.40 54.00 55.09 54.79 53.28 53.99 53.07 53.40 60.09 59.90 58.99 59.40 58.01 59.99 59.60 60.00 59.80 59.11 59.00 57.00 57.99 57.50 65.08 64.79 64.49 64.64 63.99 63.90 64.00 70.19 69.69 69.01 68.99 68.11 70.56 69.40 SOLUTIONS HO1: There are no significant differences between the 25 treatments. H11: There are significant differences between the 25 treatments. HO2: Amount of explosive does not affect the extent of rock fragmentation H12: Amount of explosive does affect the extent of rock fragmentation Ho3: The rock type does not affect the extent of rock fragmentation H13: The rock type does affect the extent of rock fragmentation Ho4: There is no interaction between the amount of explosive and rock type H14: There is interaction between the amount of explosive and rock type Reject HO1 to HO4 if their corresponding FCAL values are greater than the corresponding FTAB values. CONCLUSION We fail to reject Ho1 and concluded that There are no significant differences between the 25 treatments. We fail to reject H02 and concluded that Amount of explosive does not affect the extent of rock fragmentation. We fail to reject H03 and concluded that the rock type does not affect the extent of rock fragmentation. We reject H04 and concluded that there is interaction between the amount of explosive and rock type.
