Subject: Falsified Airworthiness Documentation for CFM56 Parts
Dear CFM56 customers,
This All Operators Wire (AOW) communicates CFM concerns over falsified certification documents
for certain CFM56 engine component parts.
CFM was recently contacted by an MRO provider regarding authenticity of an EASA Form 1 document
allegedly issued by Safran Aircraft Engines for a new CFM56 part. This EASA Form 1 document was
received by the MRO from AOG TECHNICS LTD. Once contacted by the MRO, CFM immediately
initiated an investigation. This review confirmed that the EASA Form 1 in question was not issued by
Safran Aircraft Engines.
Following this initial finding, this MRO provider shared additional EASA Form 1 documents allegedly
issued by Safran Aircraft Engines that were also received from AOG Technics LTD. Reviews of these
additional documents covering multiple CFM part numbers offered for sale by AOG TECHNICS LTD
found significant discrepancies including:
-
EASA Form 1 documents attributed to Safran Aircraft Engines that were not issued by Safran
Aircraft Engines; and
-
Memo of Shipment documents attributed to Safran Aircraft Engines that were not issued by
Safran Aircraft Engines.
Subsequently, a second company provided six additional EASA Form 1 documents to CFM for review
that were received from AOG Technics LTD. Reviews confirmed that these six EASA Form 1
documents attributed to Safran Aircraft Engines were not issued by Safran Aircraft Engines.
Finally, we have since been made aware of one FAA Form 8130-3 document received by an MRO
provider from AOG Technics LTD. attributed to GE Engine Services Distribution LLC that accompanied
GE CF6 engine parts but was not issued by GE Engine Services Distribution LLC.
As a result of those findings, Safran Aircraft Engines filed Suspected Unapproved Parts (SUP)
notifications with the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). These EASA SUP reports
identify twenty-nine (29) EASA Form 1 documents that were issued for twenty-two (22) separate
CFM56 component part numbers.
Both entities that shared suspect airworthiness documents with CFM have informed impacted
customers of the document discrepancies confirmed by CFM.

CFM is providing this information to CFM operators and MRO providers as a precaution while CFM
and Authorities investigations continue. CFM does not know if additional parts may have been
distributed by AOG TECHNICS LTD with potentially falsified documents attributed to Safran Aircraft
Engines or GE Aerospace.
CFM is not mandated to provide guidance related to continued operation of engines containing one
or more of these parts.
In addition, use of parts accompanied by falsified documentation may void applicable CFM
warranties, guarantees, and other potential CFM obligations.
To assist with our on-going investigation, if you have received parts that came from AOG Technics
LTD., please contact CFM and provide CFM with copies of any certification documents that
accompanied the parts in question.
If you have any questions regarding the information in this document, please contact either the
Safran Aircraft Engines CSC or GE Fleet Support and reference this AOW.
