Kim MeeShen Jin 9/12/2023 Dr. Koloi Eng 81:154 "Do you think going to college would benefit you to earn more money than someone who works full-time?” After we receive our highschool diploma, we normally would decide our next step in life. Each individual can choose from going to college or working full-time. People have different mindset on which decision would benefit them in their future. Sometimes, people face some obstacles where they have no choice but to go to college or work full-time. Nowadays, surviving in the real world is very difficult, especially when you are an adult now. You can't keep on relying on your parents for the rest of your life. Finding a stable job is not easy, living on your own in this economy, and also going to college is not easy too. Seven out of ten people would choose to receive higher education and go to college. College costs lots of money but there are ways to pay less, such as scholarships and aid from the federal government. Just working harder in your academies first, you are able to earn money. If not, you can also work part-time around campus. By working part time, you can learn to save and invest for your future expenses. Higher education would get you higher income when you get a job. Another advantage of going to college is when you are applying for jobs, your employer would look at what you've majored in, and the skills you've learned in college to help you find a job. Learning a professional skill can really help you in the future. The other three out of ten would choose to work full-time, which is not bad at all. College is not for everybody, and not going wouldn't stop you from becoming successful. There are many rich successful people in the world that didn't go to college. There are also advantages to working full time. You are able to experience and learn techniques to adapt to life working instead of studying. You are focused to follow the directions. that's given, and instead of a bad grade, they would just deduct your pay check. You are expected to juggle in your workplace but your employer doesn't pay you more. As for someone who works full time, it is important to think ahead and what you can do more to make more than what you are currently earning. For both, working full time or going to college, there are also disadvantages. Sometimes the materials you've learned in college won't benefit you on the amount you are supposed to earn. For example, doctors do get a high pay check, but it takes about eight years of education. Working full-time also has disadvantages, such as the risk of being unemployed. If you don't have a job, you won't be able to pay bills, food , and other expenses. Medical bills are more challenging to pay at once too. I think in this society, it's very hard to earn money. No matter if you have the best education, or you only have a high school diploma, money is hard to earn. Earning your expenses to pay bills and food is already a lot. People tend to overwork themselves because of how much the expenses are and how the economy is. I think going to college would benefit you now more than someone who works full-time. At least education can benefit you to understand more things that are useful now in the real world.
