TAP Reflection 2

Second Tap Reflection
During this team activity I noticed that I took more action in this activity than I did in the
first one as it felt like our group got closer over time and worked better than on the desert
activity. To add to this in this activity it was an easier activity than the desert survival one as this
had a clearer goal with less ambiguity and we were more comfortable with each other as this
class progressed compared to the beginning when we just formed our teams. I also noticed that
the challenge of this puzzle kind of made the whole team quitter than usual as we were all trying
to focus to try and figure out where the puzzle pieces went. This activity was very interesting as
it had different parts to the puzzle, and it was not your generic and average puzzle. In
combination the different images and the letters in the center and the blank borders of the puzzle
made it difficult and challenging and made us a team have to think in different perspectives. This
activity helped bring out the unique strengths in each team member as the activity required us to
think in different ways. During this activity I noticed that no one really took up a leadership role
and everyone just said what was on their mind and no one took the lead. I noticed that some of
my team members seemed a bit quieter in this activity compared to some of the previous
activities and I am not sure if this is due to this specific activity, or it is because of some outside
attribute affecting them. During this activity I learned more about my team members and their
strengths in regard to puzzle solving like how some of my team members were better at looking
at the larger picture while me and the rest were good at looking at the finer details. The thing that
I think would have helped our team complete the puzzle would be someone taking charge and
being able plan and to lead us, so we were not just being quiet and thinking to ourselves. If we
would have collaborated more as a team with a leader, then we would have been able to share
ideas more openly and probably have completed the puzzle. I feel that overall, the concepts that
we have been learning in class did not play too much of a role in this activity as it was rather
short and more so relied on our own individual and unique strengths in regard to solving puzzles.
Going forward I think we as a team should definitely have someone as the leader to help lead the
rest of the group to completing the goal together. In regard to the leader in the future maybe I
will take up the leader role if no one will take it before me as being a leader is not my strong suit
and would prefer if someone else takes it before me but if no one does then I will try my best to
steer my team to a clear goal. I also think that going forward we should try to be more open with
each other in regard to sharing ideas as again today our team was fairly quiet compared to other
activities although I can not attribute this to my team or if there was something else going on.
The last main thing that I think my team should do going forward is that we should formulate a
plan before doing anything first so we can have a clearer goal in mind to help us finish the
activity at hand.
