In Essay format: TOPIC: What fictional character do you identify with most, and why? Growing up, I always felt different from the other boys in my class. I didn't enjoy playing sports or video games like they did. Instead, I found solace in reading books and spending time in nature. It wasn't until I watched the Disney movie Beauty and the Beast that I finally found a character I could truly identify with, Belle. Some may be surprised that I identify as the male version of Belle but hear me out. Belle is a strong, independent, intelligent woman who values education and learning. She is not afraid to speak her mind and stand up for what she believes in, even when it is unpopular. These are all traits that I strive to embody in my own life. Furthermore, Belle is often seen as an outsider in her village. She is not interested in the traditional gender roles expected of her and is ridiculed for her love of books. As someone who has also felt like an outsider, I can relate to the loneliness and isolation that Belle experiences. Like Belle, I have always been drawn to books and the worlds they contain. I find solace in the written word and believe that knowledge is power. Belle's love of books ultimately leads her to find true love and acceptance, which is a message that has resonated with me since I was a child. In conclusion, I identify as the male version of Belle from Beauty and the Beast because of her strength, independence, and love of learning. Like Belle, I have felt like an outsider for much of my life, but I have learned to embrace my differences and value the things that make me unique. Citations: Beauty and the Beast. (1991). [Film].
