1.0 Proposed Case Study Title
(GSIMN) Galorio Store Inventory Management System
2.0 Area of Investigation
Palkan Polomolok South Cotabato
3.0 Cited Problems
3.1 A cash register does not provide the option to keep a check on the
customer payments and receivables. So, without a billing solution, it
needs to keep track of these things manually, which again takes up a
lot of the time.
3.2 Manual work and slow cash flow, the bill might be unclear or they
might be wrongly billed because they do there service manually.
3.3 Managing inventory with paperwork and manual processes is tedious
and not secure. And it doesn’t easily scale across multiple warehouses
with lots of stock.

3.4 Some products didn’t sell due to spoilage, damage or theft can be
supply chain problems, such as storage and loss not notice by the
customers that affect the income of the store.
3.5 Inventory is hard to identify or locate in the warehouse, it leads to
incomplete, inaccurate or delayed shipments. Receiving and finding
the right stock is vital to efficient storage operations and positive
customer experiences.
4.0 Functions of the Proposed System
An automated and intuitive billing solution makes things easier in such a situation
and to determine the appropriate quantity and type of input products, in-process
products, and finished products, thereby simplifying production and sales
operations and lowering costs by maintaining them at an optimum level.
5.0 Features of the Proposed System
5.1.1 Generate bill becomes easier and fuss free, since you are no more
required to do hand billing.
5.1.2 Keep an eye on the stock, it becomes easier for you to cut down on
the shrinkage, thereby improving flow of materials and money.
5.1.3 Create estimates of the products so that the customer is aware of
the products that they bought.
5.1.4 In this system the product is organize in the system according to
their price, types of product and stock available.
5.1.5 To lessen the use of paper and pen of the cashier.

6.0 Reason for the Choice
Galorio Store Inventory Management System will help the Management of the
store to provide the best service to customers by ensuring the availability of their
required goods and this necessitates the introduction of an optimized and
automated payment mechanism through which they can accurately log and track
the amount of hours expended by their workers on employment or activities,
efficiently gather cost data, rapidly produce correct invoices, and execute
accounting functions.

of sales report, and printing of receipt. It is a hardware and software-based
business solution that use the product price to be calculated automatically by
scanning the products.
The owner and the cashier can both benefit from this system. It will
provide fast and reliable service in keeping the sales and fast updating of
changes of product price. Using this system will give much greater accuracy in
product selling and management. It will give confidence to the user because it is
accurate, secure and efficient, where transaction entry records necessary details
on the customer, products buying, price and date while also updating inventory
records.
An inventory management system (or inventory system) is the process by
which you track your goods throughout your entire supply chain, from purchasing
to production to end sales. It governs how you approach inventory management
for your business. Inventory changes constantly. Throughout each day, sales,
returns, new receipts even damage and theft affect your inventory levels. While
daunting, effective inventory management and inventory control are the most
important jobs in a successful retail or wholesale business.
An inventory management system is the combination of technology
(hardware and software) and processes and procedures that oversee the
monitoring and maintenance of stocked products, whether those products are
company assets, raw materials and supplies, or finished products ready to be
sent to vendors or end consumers.

The Galorio Store was named after the owners, Mr. Leonardo Galorio and
her wife Mrs. Dolores Galorio. This public establishment started in the year 1991,
selling products. But in the year 2018, they decided to add security in the store
because of the recent robbery incident on the store. Galorio Store is situated
along the Purok-2 Brgy.Palkan Polomolok, SouthCotabato.
Objectives of the Study
General Objectives
-
To develop and Implement the Inventory Management System for
Galorio Store.
Specific Objectives

To lessen the time consumed on every sales and inventory transaction
by not using a log book and pen.

To provide the store a system that can help them maintaining the
quality of the products.

To easily track the product that will be located.

To establish a system that give a discount to the citezin of palkan that
always buy, based on their total amount bought.

To create a system that can easily generate the following reports; sales
invoice, daily sales, sold products, daily and monthly sales and
inventory.

Scope of the Study
-
The proposal aims to establish the better way of making good services
to the customers. The system is capable of fastest giving information or
about the product, it can monitor the available and unavailable stocks,
tracking and notifying the product, giving the total sales at the end of
the day and backup the file. It is also capable of printing the records of
the product.
Limitation of the Study
-
The proposed system will not cater online transactions because the
system is automated and it will use barcode scanner to identify the
product.
Significance of the Study
This IT project intends to provide an accurate and effective Inventory
Management System which will benefit the following:
The Management
Has full access and control to the system, it can contribute such as
monitoring of every user activity and review overall daily sales.

The person that will basically use the system who is in-charge of
tracking, recording, and selling of the products price for faster
transactions.
Developers
This study will enhance their skills, knowledge, and critical thinking
in advance technology by developing a system, that lessen the workload.
The Customers
The system gives benefits to the customer for good and safe
product that they buy. Also, the time being consume if they ask for the
information of the product whether it is available or unavailable, if their
cashier use the manual process.
Future Researchers
This study would serve as a guide in the area of Inventory
Management System. The project serves as a basis of the study. It
helps to improve their knowledge about the benefits of having an
automated inventory instead of manual. Also encourage them to made
a computerize system.
