Type: Group work (groups of 4). With odd number of students, a variation of 3 cards is possible to make
groups of 3.
Level: Elementary, Pre-Intermediate.
Timing: 15-20 min.
Materials: 4 situation cards.
Procedure: Divide students into groups of 3-4 give each a card divided into 2 parts, one explaining who
they are and requesting to come up with 5 sentences to describe their daily life using Present Simple and
the other explaining why today is not an ordinary day requesting to come up with 5 sentences to describe
what they are doing today using Present Continuous. They then exchange their information. You may want
to ask them not to tell who they are for other students to guess.
