INCLUSIVE DATE: September 19, 2022 VENUE: School Gymnasium PERSONS INVOLVED: Technical Working Group, All Teachers and Selected Pupils AGENCY INVOLVED: Santa Rosa Elementary School and SK Federation BUDGET ALLOCATION: School Fund NARRATIVE REPORT The Brigada Pagbasa (BP) as a form of Brigada Eskwela is an after-school reading program in response to Hamon : Bawat Bata Bumabasa or DepEd 3B Initiative issued under DM 173,s. 2019. Thus, the Department of Education (DepEd) supports Every Child a Reader Program, which aims to make every Filipino child a reader and a writer at his/her grade level. In this connection Santa Rosa Elementary School launched a three in one (3 in 1) launching event of the Brigada Pagbasa dubbed. “Brigada Pagbasa 2022 cum Project BUS, DREAM and MAPA on September 19, 2022 after the Flag Raising Ceremony at the School Gymnasium. Santa Rosa Elementary School promotes Project BUS or Proyektong BUS (Basahin, Unawain at Sulatin). This initiative has been supported by the institution to continue administering the project. All Brigada Eskwela at Pagbasa implementers are encouraged to conduct partnership initiative for reading which serves as a platform to synergize education-related endeavors that immediately addresses literacy and numeracy gaps. The reading programs included in the Brigada Pagbasa are Project LIVE (Lively, Interactive, Virtual and Enhanced) BUS (Basahin Unawain Sulatin), Project DREAM (Daily Reading Enhancement through Marungko Approach sa Pagbasa’y Aangat ). The following is the flow of the program. The launching program has been hosted by Mrs. ____________________, Mother Tongue Coordinator. The opening remarks was given by the Head Teacher III, Mrs. _______________. It has been followed by the orientation proper given by Mrs. _________________, School Reading Coordinator. It was an exciting reading activity as the quest story teller and stakeholder Hon. __________________________, SK Chairman, started his story title “ Si Ching na Takot sa Dilim” written by Aleli Dew Batnag and illustrated by Paul Eric Roca. The learners attentively listen to the story and answered the questions intelligently. The program ended with a Closing Remarks given by Miss __________________ (Asst. Filipino Coordinator) and Closing Prayer from Mrs. ____________________, English Coordinator. The certificate of Appreciation was awarded to the guest story teller as a simple appreciation of his contribution for the success of the activity. The conduct of the BP includes advocacy activities as mentioned earlier to encourage volunteerism among learner-participants and reading tutors and sponsors.
