Presentation & Essay; Page 1 Issue Presentation and Essay Paper Presentation 15% - November 11 Paper 15% - Dec 9 Total Value: 30% Students presenting on the same issue/ topic can work together but must hand in separate essay papers and reflection. Groups no larger than 4 people. The presentation will be min 4 minutes to max 7 minutes. 1. Choose an issue, topic, or change that is affecting Indigenous people in Canada. See topics list. Topics will be approved on a first come first served basis. 2. Cover the following areas in your research of the topic: A) Historical information related to the issue/topic/change you have chosen; B) Current information on the issue – what is happening right now? C) How it impacts the Indigenous population? Is it a positive or negative impact. Does it apply to all Indigenous people? D) Which organizations are involved in helping alleviate/solve the issue? Are there any there any organizations? If not, should there be? 3. The issue, topic or change will be in a presentation form and PowerPoint or other acceptable media is to be used. Your presentation may include film or audio clip max 3 minutes. The presentation will be presented to the class via power point slides. The research paper will be submitted in the final week of class. 4. A reference page of the sources used in the presentation must be included on the power point and in the paper. You must include 3 different resources and remember are they reliable sources?
