Global Green Books was successful in the early days because of the energy
and zeal of both Jim and Brad but, when work or projects increase, it
becomes more difficult to manage them. In order to maintain efficiency and
avoid bottlenecks, skills like time management and project management
become particularly important.
Despite attempting to handle every task on their own, Jim and Brad became
stuck due to a lack of technology. And once things start escalating out of
control, managing it subsequently is difficult.
Some of the issues Jim and Brad faced attempting to manage the increase of
work load at their company are highlighted below:
1. Inability to leverage new employees – Leverage is the ability to influence
a system or environment, in a way that multiplies your effort. Jim and Brad
clearly did not possess this skill.
2. Project software – There are so many software available in the market
like Atlassian and Zoho which helps track the progress made in any number
of projects. But because of lack of knowledge Jim and Brad were not making
use of these tools
3. Budgeting and Controlling – Global Green Books was a very small name
when it opened for business, but the moment it started growing into a big a
name, it was vital to prepare budgets and have essential cash management
system in place which also handles it, like a proper big company.
4.Reporting – Global Green Books was missing frequent reports and
presentations to comprehend their direction. There was no plan and the
analysis and interpretation were not given any special consideration.
5. Communication with stakeholders – Jim and Brad were managing the
operations as a one-man army, however informing stakeholders of the
progress of projects is not only necessary but also vital so that they are
aware of the most recent advancements.
6. Risk management – New clients might have different demands and
expectations. Meeting deadlines has to be considered prime. To evaluate
the situation's importance and the repercussions, establishing a priority
strategy is the only plan that will be perfect for both parties.
7. Manage orders and volumes – There are proper tools and project
management practices which would organize orders and projects, and keep
under scanner to check the progress and requirements neither of which
were being implemented at Global Green Books
8. Quality checks – Having appropriate quality controls in place to detect
any deviations is crucial for delivering successful projects with high-quality
solutions. Anyone who pays money expects prompt and reliable delivery.
But for our project our team will looking to solely tackle the issue of
leveraging employees effectively
