Treasurer – Board Director (Volunteer)

MEOW Foundation is seeking an experienced Treasurer to join our Board of Directors.
This is a great volunteer opportunity for someone who is passionate about animal welfare and
looking to make a difference in the community. You will play an essential role in MEOW
Foundation operations and future strategic plans.
MEOW Foundation is a no-kill registered charity and humane society dedicated to saving the
lives of stray and abandoned cats. As a charity organization, MEOW runs on the generosity of
our volunteers and donors.

As the Treasurer, you will oversee our organization's financial operations and ensure
transparency and accountability. You will collaborate closely with our dedicated team to manage
budgets, monitor financial transactions, prepare financial reports, and provide strategic
recommendations for financial decision-making.
Your Responsibilities:
✅Oversee and provide improvements to budgeting processes, reporting packages, and
performance.
✅Provide insightful analytics to support Board decision-making.
✅Help ensure business practices, policies, and procedures adhere to all regulatory practices
and standards (audit and regulatory filings).
✅Improve efficiency and automation.
✅Develop and enhance financial strategies and ensure internal controls are in place to
effectively manage assets and revenues.
✅Provide guidance, mentoring, and supervision to accounting staff.
✅Anticipated volunteer commitment is 20 hours/month.
Your Qualifications:
✨Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.
✨A strong background in finance, accounting, or a related field.
✨Familiarity with non-profit accounting practices.
✨Proficiency in financial software and tools (QuickBooks, Excel, etc.)
✨Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
✨Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
✨Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
✨Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
✨Passion for animal welfare.
