CONSTITUTION OF THE BAKING CLUB OF SKYLINE HIGH SCHOOL
Preamble
We, the students, for the promotion of good government, good sportsmanship, student activities,
and the general welfare of the students of Skyline High School, establish this Constitution of the
Baking Club.
Article 1. Name of Organization
Section A. It is resolved that the name of this organization shall be the Baking Club of
Skyline High School.
Article 2. Purpose
The purposes of this organization shall be to:

1. To develop a multifaceted appreciation for baking, both through application
and learning.
2. To reinforce and develop culinary skills over the course of the school year.
Section B.
1. To cultivate our members’ skills in a harassment-free, judgment-free zone.
2. To have a fun, relaxing time baking delicious desserts, and to share our
passion with the community.
Article 3. Membership
Section A. Membership in the Baking Club is established by paying club dues.
Section B. Membership in the Baking Club is maintained by attending one-third of the
total number of meetings. A total of two unexcused absences (defined by a failure to attend a
meeting as a result of a non-emergency) will be allowed for members who signed up for a
baking meeting, and exceptions will be granted on a case-by-case basis. Excused absences
must be sent to the Baking Club Secretary via email 24 hours in advance of absence from the
baking meeting.
Article 4. Duties of Executive Board
Section A.
1. To foster a positive environment in which club members may learn and
develop their preexisting baking skills and garner new ones through multiple types of
application.
2. To assist club members in their learning journey over the course of the school
year, and further cultivate the passion that club members have for baking.
3. To organize club meetings and fundraisers in order to promote the expansion
and longevity of the club.
4. To attend all meetings; no unexcused absences will be allowed. Excused
absences, including prior commitments, must be discussed before the meeting occurs,
and executive board members will be held liable for any miscommunication that may
occur. Executive board members may not have any more than three excused absences
over the course of the school year.
5. To be in charge of raising money through fundraising for any necessary
funding outside of club dues.
6. To maintain clear communication amongst all executive board members and
the club advisor.
Article 5. Executive Leadership
Section A. The Skyline Baking Club leadership (President, Vice President, Secretary,
and Treasurer) will consist of club members elected by their peers by a majority vote,
which will take place in May.
Section B. All nominees for executive positions must have attended two-thirds of the
Baking Club meetings, obtained their Food Handlers Permit, and maintained active
membership status.
Section C. Roles for each board member are as followed:

President: Lead official meetings, attend required ASB meetings, and organize
baking curriculum.
Vice President: Act as president when the official president is absent, and lead
official meetings in their stead.
Secretary: Take official notes at every official meeting, upload minutes and
attendance/roster to official OneNote.
Treasurer: Handle account funding, and keep track of budget and spending.
Section D. Board members may be impeached through majority vote by all club
members in cases of board members failing to meet their role’s duties.
Article 6. Amendments
Section A. This Constitution shall be amended by a two-thirds majority vote of the
membership provided.
Article 7. Dissolution of the Club
Section A. If the Baking Club was ever dissolved and there were remaining monies in the
account, the Club funds would revert to the school’s Associated Student Body general account.
Guidance for dissolution is per the school’s Associated Student Body Constitution.
Section B. All records of the Club and Club Minutes shall be kept in a safe and central
location never to be destroyed and per applicable state laws regarding retention can be sent to
the state archives.
