Republika ng Pilipinas Kagawaran ng Edukasyon Rehiyon I Sangay na Tanggapan ng mga Paaralan PAMBANSANG MATAAS NA PAARALAN NG BONUAN BUQUIG LUNGSOD DAGUPAN Narrative Report on National Learning Camp-,Grade 7 English In line with the Department of Education’s (DepEd) MATATAG: Bansang Makabata, Bansang Makabansa agenda, the Bonuan Buquig National High School implements the National Learning Camp (NLC), a voluntary learning recovery program that is well defined under DepEd Order No 14,s 2023. The English department headed by Maria Merlinda P. Mariado identified students and teachers willing to attend the program before its commencement last July 24, parents also consented as the initial stage for the registration in NLC. Overall, eighty-One (81) (59 Enhancement Camp, 22 Consolidation Camp) grade 7 students and three English teachers voluntarily participated in the NLC. Two teachers are assigned in the Enhancement Camp since there are 59 enrollees and one in the Consolidation camp with 22 enrollees. During the first week, the collaboration among grade 7 English teachers namely Jeneffer Chung, Chantal Hannah Biay, and Mary Grace S. Quijano made every lesson more meaningful and exciting. Teachers came up with a lot of effective strategies to meet the student’s needs in learning. The collaborative days spent in NLC have proven to be fruitful in giving students the best time in NLC. Teachers used games, images, videos, pictures, inquiry, and collaborative tasks. Considerably, these made students find every class different from the usual class they spent in ordinary classrooms. The camps were engaging and lessons were gradually developed as students considered it comprehensible and tasks were manageable. Accordingly, the use of positive discipline through the use of badges as a reward system set an excellent learning environment. Moreover, the general assembly also played a significant part in the NLC. Students had a chance to engage socially as they gathered and joined in friendly competitions and games on the school ground. Teamwork and collaboration among them were developed. The first week of NLC is truly a success.
