The majority of Muslims went to Pakistan while the majority of non-Muslims stayed back in India. Since the partition, India and Pakistan have been Involved in a lot of wars, conflicts, and military standoffs. A major reason for it was because of Kashmir and crossborder terrorism. Although India and Pakistan got independence on the same day, later they started celebrating it differently, Pakistan on 14th August and India on 15th August. There are several reasons for this. 14th August,1947 One of the reason is, the time difference between the two countries. India is ahead of Pakistan by 30 minutes. India gained its Independence on August 15, 1947, at 00:00 IST. Thus, when Pakistan got its independence, it was 23:30 PKT at that time in Pakistan.
