India and Pakistan
became different
countries in 1947
after their
independence. The
majority of Muslims
went to Pakistan
while the majority
of non-Muslims
stayed back in India.
Since the partition,
India and Pakistan
have been Involved
in a lot of wars,
conflicts, and
military standoffs. A
major reason for it
was because of
Kashmir and crossborder terrorism.
Although India and
Pakistan got
independence on the
same day, later they
started celebrating
it differently,
Pakistan on 14th
August and India
on 15th August.
There are several
reasons for this.
14th August,1947
One of the reason is, the time
difference between the two
countries. India is ahead of
Pakistan by 30 minutes. India
gained its Independence on
August 15, 1947, at 00:00 IST.
Thus, when Pakistan got its
independence, it was 23:30
PKT at that time in Pakistan.
Pakistan celebrates its
Independence Day on August
14, 1947, a day before
India's Independence.
15th August, 1947

Despite numerous attempts at
peace talks and diplomatic
efforts, tensions between India
and Pakistan remain high. The
two nations continue to dispute
the region of Kashmir and have
engaged in several minor
skirmishes along the border in
recent years.

However, there is also hope for
future cooperation and
reconciliation between the two
countries. Both India and
Pakistan are members of the
Shanghai Cooperation
Organization and have expressed
a desire to work together on
issues such as trade and regional
security.
