With this letter I would like to express my interest in filling an open vacancy at BEMO under the position of
providing internal finance client services. I Learned about this opportunity through my university’s career services,
and after browsing the job description I felt like it is the perfect opportunity for me.
I am a fresh graduate from the American University of Beirut with a bachelor's degree in pure mathematics and a
minor in business administration; I am currently continuing my educational journey with earning a master’s degree in
finance (MFIN) from AUB. During my college years, math started to become a ‘dry’ field in which we only prove
theorems that despite being a great source of knowledge for me, I’m not going to make use of in my daily life, and
that was what triggered me to get into a new field: a real and more complex one, so I decided to minor in Business
Administration.
Mathematics indeed helped me to upgrade my quantitative skills, critical thinking, and reasoning, but it wasn’t aligned
with what I wanted to do in my life. However, Business courses were more interesting than math courses, especially
the finance and management information system courses. Corporate finance was my favorite course I took during my
three college years. It included the math that I enjoy, the logic that is necessary for every person to have, and a
knowledge that seems to be obvious but is actually hidden and never expected sometimes. As much as I liked this
course, I gave it all my potential. I felt that this is what I really want.
Corporate finance, being my favorite course has pushed me to consider specializing in finance for my master’s degree.
After I familiarize myself with the finance world through my degree, I realized that the job I want is related to financial
management, analysis, and planning which also can be done through being a Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
Completing an internship with Deloitte & Touche Middle in Consulting would be a great opportunity for me to
discover my skills, position myself, and it will guide me to choose my future path especially that it will provide me
with the necessary tools, knowledge & experience about all the different departments in a Business which a is key to
be a professional CFO and leader.
