John Locke's Idea on Understanding the self

I agree with John Locke’s philosophy on self, in which he holds that a person's mind is a blank
slate or tabula rasa at birth. It is through experiences that this blank slate is filled, and a personal
identity or "self" is formed. This "self" cannot be found in the soul nor the body but in one's
consciousness
As an individual who’s determined to explore, there are so many lessons I’ve learned about
myself through the experiences I've had. I was able to recognize the things that I was capable of
that I wasn’t able to recognize before I had experience with them. Some times in our lives, we
think about ourselves and think that we might be this kind of person, but we are not certain about
it because we haven’t tried or experienced that kind of person. But when we have experienced it,
we can conclude that we might be this kind of person or, in contrast, for the reason that we have
already tried or experienced the thing that we set about ourselves. In other words, all our
conclusions about ourselves are grounded in our experience.
