• Comes into picture when outcome of an experiment is not fixed
• Experiment 1 - Rolling a dice
Outcome definition: Number obtained when a dice is rolled
• The outcome could be 1/2/3/4/5/6 – multiple outcomes are probable
• Experiment 2 - Tossing a coin
Outcome definition: Number obtained when a coin is tossed
• Multiple outcomes are probable
• Experiment 3 – Tossing a coin
Outcome definition: True if the coin falls down False otherwise
• Only a single outcome is probable (in natural circumstances )
