Feedback for ENGAGE I attended the IT workshop and chose the AI topic to join. It’s hard to ignore the fact that AI is trending for a long while, and whether you like it or not, this will be the future of our lives. During the session, we understand what AI is and how it grows from computer intelligence to now ChartGPT and other applications to facilitate us to achieve more in our lives. When we discussed diversity hiring, some classmates mentioned that we can use AI instead of humans to hire talents without any bias or personal preferences since AI can collect all the data it needs and analyze them systematically to ensure that an organization can employ the most adequate talents for certain positions. “AI-enabled processes not only save companies in hiring costs but also can affect workforce productivity by successfully sourcing, screening, and identifying top-tier candidates.” (Pratt, 2023). Not to mention, AI also can help managers to supervise subordinates’ performance based on their achievements, sales goals, project goals, or overall efficiencies by calculating the actual stats without interference. During the workshop, we also learned a little about Python programing by using Google Colab to initiate a photo identification function. For a business school student, this is nothing but new to me; however, this is also very important for us to acknowledge the basic knowledge of AI and other programming systems because once we become managers we need to utilize these tools to supervise subordinates and maybe use it to enhance the company’s performance.
