PROCEDURE
Teacher’s Activity
“Good Morning Class”
“How are you feeling today?”
Learner’s Activity
“Good Morning Ma’am”
“ we’re good”
A. Activity
Let’s have a recall about Changing Percent
into Decimal Number and Changing the
Decimal Number into Percent.
How do we change the Percent to Decimal By moving the decimal point two places from
Number?
the right to left.
That’s Correct!
Example:
1. 0.010% = 0.00010
2. 30%
= 0.30
How do we change Decimal Number into Percent?
By moving the Decimal point in two places
from left to right.
Example:
1. 0.014 = 1.4%
2. 3.4
= 340%
Again, In Changing the Decimal Number into
Percent We move the Decimal point two places from
the left to right and We affix the (%) Percentage sign.
And In Converting Percent into Decimal Number,
We move the Decimal point two places from the
right to left.
Any questions?
Do you understand?
None.
Yes Ma’am.
You’ve Learned the Conversion of Decimal Number
into Percent and Changing of Percent into Decimal
Number.
Now we shall proceed into our next lesson for today.
What do you think is our lesson for today?
How do we change Ration into Percent?
Changing Ratio into Percent
Excellent!
We multiply the first term in 100 and divide
the product into the second term.
Let’s have an example:
1. 20:100 = (20 X 100) ÷ 100
= 20%
Do not forget to affix the (%) Percentage sign.
2. 45 out of 90 pupils are willing to participate on
their camping trip. ____% shall participate on
their camping trip.
45:90 = (45 x 100) ÷ 90
= 50%
3. 60 out of 1000 pupils voted Cecille as for the
school representative.
Ratio: 60:1000 Percent: (60 x 100) ÷ 1000
= 6%
4. 70 out of 2140 students failed the Scholarship
Examination .
Ratio: 70:2140
Percent: (70 x 100) ÷ 2140
= 3.27%
5. 50:1000
(50 x 100) ÷ 1000
= 5%
B. Analysis
How do we change Ratio into Percent?
By multiplying the first term in 100 and
divide it’s product by the second term.
Now that we have our product What do we do next? Not yet, We affix the Percent Sign.
Is it our final answer?
C. Abstraction
In Changing the Ration into Percentage, We
multiply the first term into 100 and we divide the
product into the second term.
Now that we have our product, We affix the (%)
sign.
D. Application
Let’s have a Board work!
I need 6 pupils.
Convert the Ration into Percent.
( Pupils shall raise their hand)
1. 62 out of 90 tickets were sold by the Supreme
Student Council.
62:90 = (62 x 100) ÷ 90
= 68.88 % or 69%
2. Six out of 12 representatives are joining the
poetry club.
6:12 = (6 x 100) ÷ 12
= 50%
3. Eight out of 25 Candidates are chosen to move
on to the next round of the competition.
8:25 = (8 x 100) ÷ 25
= 32%
4. Ten out of Fifty girls are willing to join Poetry
Contest.
10:50 = (10 x 100) ÷ 50
= 1000 ÷ 50
= 20%
5. Four out of Five boys are joining on the
Basketball Varsity Club.
4:5 = (4 x 100) ÷ 5
= 80%
6. Two out of three Candidates are representing the
Philippines in International Swimming
Competition.
2:3 = (2 x 100) ÷ 3
= 66.66% or 67%
