I would like to introduce myself as a candidate for Director I, Child Protection Gender and Social Inclusion
Position at Child Fund as you advertised in the organization’s website. As an upbeat and educated
professional with extensive managerial experience and Knowledge in implementing programs like Health,
Livelihoods, Education, WASH, protection with a close view on vulnerable members in the community
like women, children, youth and others relation to adoption and behavior change, it is aprivilege to be
applying to Child Fund.
In my current role as Protection Coordinator at Youth and Women Community Development Organization, I
am responsible for program development, planning, budget implementation, monitoring interconnected
projects, formulating strategies and defining project objectives and supporting the Base for
implementation. I also guided Project staff while developing deadlines and budgets that would maximize
returns on investment and well versed with cash programming, resilience models, other livelihoods
interventions and market systems development which can mainstreamed to OVCs, women, other
vulnerable and so on. To add on, I have a deep understanding of project management methods, Microsoft
Office and project management software and completed the second level of Program Management for
Development Professionals (PMD Pro). I possess excellent leadership and communication skills, proven
problem-solving abilities in both development and emergency context.
In relation to experienced management, I have led very many programs funded by donors for
Development and Emergency with emphasis on the rights of vulnerable persons and the traumatized
communities for their general protection. While the projects had their unique challenges, I managed to
succeed leading them since am familiar with project cycle steps, Community appraisal approaches and I
have knowledge and experience about the Inter-Agency Standing Committee and Humanitarian Program
Cycle principles like prepare before emergency or shock, plan based on evidence, set priority objectives
early, locate decision making in the field and monitor impact of response.
As a proud graduate of the Development Studies Program at Bugema University, I am confident that my
education makes my candidacy for this position clear. During my time at Bugema University, I studied
many important topics, such as Monitoring and Evaluation, Research methods, international business,
logistics, economics, human-resources management, Statistics, Strategic management, Gender and
Development, Policy formulation and analysis, Sustainable development, Conflict management and
others. I believe that my education provided me with a solid foundation for my career as a Program
Coordinator and has made me a stronger, better leader. This can be witnessed by performance in
managing humanitarian and recovery projects like Emergency and other development programs.

However, what my resume can’t describe to you is my passion for program management in improving
beneficiary livelihoods, change in behavior, and my ability to come up with innovative solutions to
complex problems, being a team player in a diversified environment and finally my contagious enthusiasm
