Q1) 1. Ford vs Ferrari Reason: The movie is an emotion in itself. It is many things - journey of a passionate man, an inspirational story of Ford, and a life lesson for every aspiring person. Every time I watch that movie, I feel like I am part of it, I am the protagonist and I would love to live the life of Ken Miles anytime! 2. Whiplash Reason: Whiplash was a surprise! As a keyboardist myself, that movie has now inspired me strongly to pursue a percussion. It made me relive the feeling of an instrumentalist playing an instrument at his peak and the effort one takes to master it with perfection. 3. The Big Short Reason: Big Short is a mix of fun and finance blended perfectly to with each other. No film can explain better than this on the Sub-prime crisis with so much ease. More than that, it lives the life of 4 different people or group, and walks us through their emotions when they know the crisis is to happen. It is one of the movie that had inspired me to pursue finance/business. Q2) The one movie I would definitely want to screen will be Ford vs Ferrari, since everyone who has come here to IIM-K, has an aspiration to make it big in life. This is one movie, which shows that resilience and passion bears its fruit someday and pursuing it relentlessly will make one happy and satisfactory! Q3) My motivation is to promote diverse movies, the not so popular, unheard of by majority but with enough light, can change people’s life, inspire them, move them, make them happy, emotional, excited etc. and look at world a bit different after every watching each one of them! I have a love for movies with real world inspirations like Dangal to Shawshank Redemption, love documentaries and for good Tamil movies. I think of streaming weekend movie nights through online streaming platforms where everyone can join from their hostel rooms – will work great and create visibility in the campus and be a sigh of relief for people who want to engage from their places and watch great movies at the same time!!! And I really wanted to create a creative presentation – but Alas, this is as much I can express now! Shri Ganesh C V, PGP/27/161.
