25 Random things about myself 1. I like to delve into various subjects and am fascinated by arts and design. I pine to hone up my creative skills; even becoming quite a professional at various Adobe software would do. 2. I am fond of reading a lot. The genres are mostly of self- help, finance, decision making and productivity for now. But once done with these, I want to venture into those of leadership and philosophy. 3. As I grow older, I continue becoming more introverted. Left to my own, I either indulge in self-reflection (and ponder over areas I could have acted better) or plan for the future. 4. I am excited about a life where in I am able to work in different roles professionally. I get soon tired of working in the same role. 5. Being too self-critical in a manner that depletes my confidence has been a major weakness throughout my life so far. Acknowledging my strengths in the face of my weaknesses has helped me accept those weaknesses and improve my confidence. 6. While overcoming my anxiety and depression, I learnt that a life with a purpose gives one the strength to carry on despite the obstacles. 7. I am a dreamer. The dream is about attaining the maximum potential that I could become. This habit of dreaming has stayed very consistent in my life. 8. Lives of great scientists and thinkers have always inspired me. 9. “If” by Rudyard Kipling is a poem I learnt in high school and it is my favourite to this day. 10. I get quite affected emotionally by the injustices around the world. 11. I firmly believe that a good health is the foundation for a good mind. 12. My favourite novel is “Great Expectations” by Charles Dickens. 13. Rejections and failures are a part of the process for achieving success and to be able to handle both could go a long way to achieving the final goal. 14. Success has the effect of inflating one’s ego while failure teaches us the best lessons in humility. But to be an effective leader, one needs lessons in humility. 15. My idea of a great superhero is that of Batman. Somebody who does not give in to the idea of revenge or hate but instead channelized his personal tragedy to build more character into oneself and ensure that the crime which caused him severe personal loss does not happen to others. 16. And when you discuss Batman, you cannot leave out the Joker who faced injustices and tragedies himself but found his solace in creating similar situations for other people. Let’s face it: Most of us identify with the Joker and therefore crime fighting is one of creating more social justice: inclusivity and equity. 17. Situations of vulnerability provides the greatest scope for strengthening our mentality and positions of uncertainty creates the chance for the biggest rewards. 18. During my younger days, I have often thought about the purpose of life. As I grow older the question has changed to whether there indeed should be a purpose to life since whatever one does seems meaningless in the face of certain death. 19. At my age, I rather think about how life is to be led. Life is to be led happily pursuing all that would otherwise cause deep regret if left un-pursued. Discovering one’s potential leads to maximum happiness. 20. Each one of us lead different lives and comparison with others is a major cause of suffering. Once one accepts this uniqueness, the focus will shift to maximising the most of his uniqueness. 21. 22. In essence, I feel that my purpose in life is to leave behind a good legacy that could inspire anyone who can identify with me. I have found inspiration from people whom I could identify with and since it holds true for me, there is a chance it could hold true for someone else as well.
