Explain questions require technical terms in
the answer.
Describe questions can be easily answered
with layman's terms.
Analyse questions require you to infer,
deduce, draw a conclusion from a table, graph
or diagram.
Alternative to Practical
Cation and Anion tests: It is best to
learn the tests with coloured tables, to
ingrain a mental picture of what colour
precipitate each element results in
forming.
Absolutely crucial to know, because it is
a guaranteed mark for 2 words of
writing. You must be familiar with the
observations, whether a gas is liberated,
what colour the gas is and how can we
test for it.
Drawing
You must use the appropriate
format when drawing ionic
bonded
compounds. Including a Key;
which atom has a dot for
electrons and
which has a cross for
electrons.
