We don’t have a girlfriend…!
And we are proud of that.
There is always a cloud of dust on the back seat of our bike,
At most, a hermit, stag or fly sits on it,
And we don’t labour to wash the backseat.
As we don’t have a girlfriend
We go in a gang to watch movies.
A basket of popcorn is good enough for hours.
And chocolate, cheesecake, and sandwich find no favour as trends,
As we have no girlfriends.
We spend weekend outings only with friends,
and if nothing else, sleep well on either side.
often as if it can only be a thing we attempt,
And at night, we don’t text anyone
Expressing our benevolent intent
Life seems ok as we don’t have a girlfriend…!
Our mobile bill is often not very high.
2-4 calls per day, which are only to home or friends,
And our phone never gets much engaged.
Because we don’t have a girlfriend…!
We join in all the escapes of friends,
And never interfere in other’s plans,
We never want to spend holidays alone,
Who wishes to enter the danger zone
No sad songs and conflicts to mend.
Because we don’t have a girlfriend…!
We have no excuses for avoiding beautiful faces,
Since everyone knows about our bachelor’s base.
And if it’s hard to get there on time,
it doesn’t matter, or act prime.
Nothing to worry about, nothing to pretend,
because we don’t have a girlfriend...!
Except for holidays and 1st day of the month,
calendar for us has no significance.
And the birthday of one or two of us
Money long live in the pocket, no more fuss,
As we don’t need her to attend.
We confess we don’t have a girlfriend…!
Our restaurant bills now are not too big.
Coffee on a table or just a verbal dig,
Roadside eateries offer great solace,
No Monteca or need riches to spend.
Because we don’t have a girlfriend…!
No more airy dreams and no promises to share,
Our hearts firewalled, and our emotions didn’t fare,
Only thought of life and need no comforting tears,
we remain mere a body and spirit transcends.
Because we don’t have a girlfriend…!
Blindfold you are,
if not awakened, to the benefits of not having a girlfriend.
But I am sure you all brothers long for a feminine companion,
Someone tells them, white elephants. Not much work,
And yet our pride is not gone,
Because we don’t have a girlfriend yet…!
