LEARNING COMPETENCY/ OBJECTIVES At the end of the lesson, the learners should be able to: Cite human activities that poses great impact in the environment Demonstrate ways to minimize the impact of human activities in the environment. The students will recall the previous lesson about species (applying Word Cryptogram and picture analysis) Note: A copy of the instructional materials will be given to both group so that students with difficulties in seeing far images can clearly visualize the pictures used in the lesson. B. Establishing a purpose for the lesson The teacher will present the objectives and purpose of the lesson to the students. The teacher will present an enviromental song titled PARAISO which will be the springboard in the teaching the human impact on the environment. To do this, the teacher will use the Singing Bee. A portion of the song will be shown on the screen and then the students had to attempt to sing the next line or lyrics of the song. Note: The integration of MAPEH specifically MUSIC can be seen in this part C. Presenting Examples/ Instances of the new lesson D. Discussing new concepts and Practicing new skills#1 The teacher will group the students into two groups wherein they will given be set of pictures of human activities. Students will analyze whether the activities shows being responsible steward of the environment or pose a threat to our nature. (Rubrics on Teamwork and Cooperation will be used in this activity) The teacher will present a documentary film on the Environmental Problems in the Philippines. Discussion of the lesson The teacher will facilitate the teaching learning process by asking and giving guide questions to the students. The teacher will emphasize the effects of burning fossil fuel. Note: Teacher will relate this to the current situation of war between Russia and Ukraine. The students will tend to relate the activity with Araling Panlipunan through their knowledge in current issue) E. Discussing new concepts and Practicing new skills#2 The teacher will post a picture of different human activity. The students will state their reason if the pictures depicts a way to help minimize the impact of human activities on the environment. The students will start their answer with I believe that….. and end their statement with I thank you. F. Developing Mastery (Leads to Formative Assessment) Guide questions will be given to the students. Teacher will emphasize the role played by the indigenous people in conserving biodiversity and protecting the environment. The teacher will present a video The students will perform the activity COMMITMENT TREE Students will fill the commitment tree by adding the leaves to the half of the tree. In each leaf, they will write the practices they wish to adapt from the indigenous people as a steward of the environment in order to minimize the impact of human activities in the environment. G. Finding practical application of concept and skills in daily living In our locality, what are the laws that are implemented by the local government unit to address our environmental problems here in Catanauan? The integration of Araling Panlipunan will be seen in this part again. The teacher will group the students into three. Each group will be given a task that aims to increase awareness and advocacy to lessen the impact of human activities in the environment. Group 1- Slogan The students will make a slogan about the highlighting impact of human of human activities on the environment Group 2- Song The students will make their create or composed a song that aims to encourage people to preserve the environment. Group 3- Acrostic Poem The students are task to make an acrostic poem using the word ENVIRONMENT. The acrostic poem should emphasize their advocacy in protecting the environment. The teacher will ask the following questions: What are the human activities that affects the environment? How do overpopulation contributes to environmental destruction?
