Skin Cancer Causes
The cause of skin cancer is the
mutation of a cell. The cell would
grow out of control preventing other
cells
from
working
properly.
Exposure to UV rays from the sun
causes the skin cell DNA to damage.
But the sun is not the only cause,
there are a lot of factors that lead to
this mutation. There are many risk
factors that include: a history of
sunburns, fair skin, family history,
sunny weather, a lot of exposure to
the sun, history of skin cancer,
abnormal
moles,
exposure
to
chemicals or radiation, and a weak
immune system.
How to Prevent Skin Cancer
Naturally, your skin's exposure to the
sun increases during this time of year,
which results in a greater risk of skin
damage, including development of
skin cancer. The good news? Most
skin cancers are preventable. You can
prevent skin cancers by staying safe
from the sun. There are many ways to
stay safe listed below.

There are many warning signs of skin cancer, but how
do you identify them? A way that you can figure out
the warning signs is by using the A-B-C-D-E method.
A- asymmetrical
Is there a mole with an irregular shape?
B- border
Is the border of the mole unusual?
C- color
Is the color weird?
D- diameter
Is the mole abnormally large?
E- evolving
Has the mole changed over some period of
time?
The most common symptom is an unhealing sore or a
sore that turns into a mole. Any unusual sore, lump,
blemish, marking, or change in the way an area of the
skin looks or feels may be a sign of skin cancer or a
warning that it might occur. The area might become
red, swollen, scaly, crusty or begin oozing or bleeding.
