The rise of the Nazi's party Noga Carmel, Tahel Barak and Tomer Guy Treaty of Versailles and the economy crisis Treaty of Versailles brought great shame upon Germany, and citizens blamed their government for signing it. Germany went through several economic crises because of ww1, Treaty of Versailles, and Inflation. Thousands of people were left unemployed, mad, and desperate for change. Germans were outraged with the government and lived under harsh conditions. Hitler and the Nazis took advantage of the unstable situation and so Hitler promised that he will be the one to redeem them, ignore the treaty of Versailles and return Germany to the powerful country it used to be. January 30, 1933, Hitler is appointed chancellor. The Nazis were completely subordinate to Hitler's personal will. The Nazi’s Propaganda One of the main reasons that the Nazi Party succeeded so much was great propaganda by Joseph Goebbels, which started being so aggressive around 1928, in the form of meetings, marches, making adds, publishing a Nazi newspaper, and more. The propaganda was focused mainly on the German people’s needs and less on the party’s real intentions, so people were naturally really interested in the party, since the situation in Germany was very difficult and the people were desperate for food, money, and jobs. Along with Hitler’s brilliant lecture skills, and Goebbels’s excellent propaganda, the Nazi party gained popularity fast. By 1930 they already 18.3 percent of Germany voting for them. The admiration for the Nazi party was only growing bigger since then. Government crisis The government couldn’t function because the parties switched all the time(none of them were able to put together a functional governmentcouldn’t win a majority in the Reichstag). Laws could be passed only by presidential decree. The Nazis become the largest party thanks to the policy that had a widespread appeal(they promised to make Germany the most powerful nation in the world), Hitler was very charismatic, and they had their own violent army(the SA) that terrorized and scared people.
