Deped Module 1 Lesson 1..p.1-3 Printed copies of a short narrative for each student Storytelling props (optional) Writing materials (paper, pencils, pens) Procedure: a. Introduction 1. Begin by asking students if they know what a narrative is and to share examples of narratives they've encountered (books, movies, TV shows, etc.). 2. Explain that a narrative is a story that tells about a series of events or experiences. It usually has characters, a setting, a plot, and a beginning, middle, and end. b. Discussion 1. Discuss the key elements of a narrative: Characters: What the story is about. Setting: Where and when the story takes place. Plot: The sequence of events that make up the story. Conflict: The problem or challenge the characters face. Resolution: How the conflict is resolved. 2. Use a short narrative example to highlight these elements. Analyze the example as a class. c. Activity: Analyzing Narratives 1. Provide each student with a printed copy of a short narrative. 2. In pairs or small groups, have students read the narrative and identify its characters, setting, plot, conflict, and resolution. 3. Ask each group to share their findings with the class. IV. Subject Matter: Creating short narratives III. August 30, 2023 Reference: Deped Module 1 p.3-5 Procedure a. Review Recap the key elements of a narrative discussed in the previous lesson. b. Brainstorming Personal Stories 1. Have a class discussion about personal experiences that could be turned into narratives. 2. Encourage students to share moments from their own lives that involve challenges, successes, or important lessons. c. Creating Personal Narratives 1. Instruct students to choose one personal experience from the brainstorming session to turn into a short narrative. 2. Provide a narrative planning template (including sections for characters, setting, plot, conflict, and resolution) to help students organize their ideas. d. Sharing and Feedback 1. Invite volunteers to share their personal narratives with the class. 2. After each presentation, encourage classmates to provide constructive feedback, focusing on the clarity of the narrative's elements. e. Activity: Peer Feedback and Revision 1. Have students exchange narratives with a partner. 2. Partners should provide feedback using a feedback rubric provided by the teacher. 3. Students revise their narratives based on the feedback received. f.
