First Announcement and Call for Abstracts
Introduction
The National HIV and AIDS Scientific Meeting for Uganda will be held in Kampala from
14th – 16th November 2023. The 3-day event is organized under the auspices of the Uganda
AIDS Commission (UAC) in partnership with the Research, Academia, Science and
Professional Associations Self-Coordinating Entity (RASP - SCE). The meeting will bring
together researchers, policy makers and service delivery implementers to share new
knowledge on the HIV/AIDS response, and ensure that implementation of the National
HIV Response is on track for attainment of the targets set in the National HIV and AIDS
Strategic Plan (NSP).
The meeting is a regular feature of the Uganda AIDS Commission’s coordination
framework. It consists mainly of specially selected, state of the art and peer-reviewed
presentations on different aspects of HIV and AIDS. The meeting is an important platform
for dissemination of research findings, thus contributing to the evidence base for managing
HIV and AIDS. The National HIV and AIDS Scientific meeting will be held alongside the
Joint AIDS Review and will also feature The Philly Lutaaya Memorial Lecture.
