Use clear and coherent sentences employing appropriate grammatical structures: Kinds of Nouns – Mass Nouns and Count Nouns, Possessive Nouns, collective nouns Day 1 Objectives Topic/s At the end of the lesson, the learners will be able to: a. Note significant details in various text type; b. Use dictionary to find meaning of a word; and c. Identify common and proper nouns correctly. Noting Significant Details and Finding Meaning of a Word Using Dictionary Sub topic: Common and Proper Noun Classroom-Based Activities Begin with classroom routine: a. Prayer; b. Reminder of the classroom health and safety protocols; c. Checking of the attendance; and d. Ask the students how are they and what they feel. A. Motivation (Engage) The teacher will write a quotation on the board and will ask the students about their opinion on the quotation: “Do not judge the book by its cover” Guided Questions: 1. What does the quotation imply? 2. Why are we not allowed to judge easily one another? 3. Do we need to practice this quotation anytime and anywhere? B. Discussion of concepts (Explore) The teacher will now discuss the topic about note taking by reading the short story entitled “Always Delay Judgement” The teacher will ask the class to read the story altogether. (Group Reading) Then will ask one volunteer from the class to read the short once again loud and clear.
