This list is used to keep track of patients in a doctor’s office.
1.b. How many rows are there in the table?
There are 4 rows.
1.c. How many columns are there in the table?
There are 7 columns.
1d. Is there a data redundancy problem with the list? Provide an example of
a problem that you observe.
Hint: What happens if Dr. Kwang leaves the practice and we delete the
records? Or Smith decides to leave. Do you see any other problems?
If a doctor leaves, then you would have to delete all his information from
the table from any of the patients that are cared for by him.
1e. Can you think of a solution to this problem?
A solution would be to create a separate table for the doctors and have a
common column that connects the patient table and the doctor table.
