B737-600/-700/-800/-900 AFM SUPPLEMENT SECTION 3 NORMAL PROCEDURES The normal procedures established in Section 3 - NORMAL PROCEDURES, Subsection Air Traffic Control Radar Beacon System, of the approved B737-600/-700/-800/-900 Airplane Flight Manual are supplemented and/or superseded as indicated below. Paragraph: Elementary Surveillance (if installed), is superseded by: MODE S – ELS ELEMENTARY SURVEILLANCE The ATC transponder in this aircraft has shown to meet EASA requirements of CSACNS.D.ELS. Paragraph: Enhanced Surveillance (if installed), is superseded by: MODE S – EHS ENHANCED SURVEILLANCE The ATC transponder in this aircraft has shown to meet EASA requirements of CSACNS.D.EHS. Paragraph: Extended Squitter (if installed,) is superseded by: ADS-B OUT (EXTENDED SQUITTER) The ATC transponder in this aircraft has shown to meet the EASA requirements of CS ACNS.D.ADSB. GPS provides the positioning information for ADS-B OUT, so when GPS data is not available, your aircraft will be invisible to ADS-B surveillance. The ADS-B OUT failure conditions can be identified when there is an ATC FAIL or XPNDR FAULT* annunciation on the ATC Transponder Panel in combination with the messages in the table below: Failure ADS-B OUT function fault ADS-B OUT system fault. Annunciations ATC FAIL or XPNDR FAULT* on ATC Transponder Panel. ATC FAIL or XPNDR FAULT* on ATC Transponder Panel and TCAS FAIL on the ND. Result of Loss of GPS data. Failure of equipment. ATC Upon an ATC FAIL or XPNDR FAULT* annunciation (ADS-B OUT function failure or system failure), the selection of the alternate system will restore ATC transponder function (ELS / EHS / ADS-B OUT / TCAS). * Fault indication depending on panel type. An ADS-B out function failure (failure of the GPS position source) may also cause FMS scratch pad and MCDU messages or possibly EGPWS terrain faults, etc. if sharing the same GPS sources as the transponder EASA APPROVED FS ref. nr.: B737-ADSB-AFM-S-001-CUS EASA STC 10066148 FS-3.0.1 Date: 23-01-2019 Copyright All rights reserved by Fokker Services B.V.
