What Recruitment Sources will be Used?
The recruitment sources I will use include indeed, search engine sites, employee
references, and other online resources.
Why have you selected these sources?
The reason these methodologies were chosen is because many people use these tools in
their job search, and we trust our current employee’s judgement. Employee referrals tend to be
the best source for acquiring new talent. With times changing and technological advances, online
tools are becoming pivotal in the hiring process. Many companies use these tools to assist their
efforts in finding and attaining new talent.
What methodology will be used to screen candidate applications or resumes?
First, we will use ATS to sort through applications and pick potential employees. We then
would begin with a criminal background check. Working in a hospital requires integrity and
honesty. If the applicant had any prior arrests for dishonesty or abuse, they would 100% be out of
the running. After the background check, the candidate’s social media would be scanned to make
sure they aren’t participating in any hate speech and carry themselves accordingly.
Why have you selected this particular selection methodology?
We chose ATS systems because they can effectively search out key words in candidates
resumes. We want candidates to have certain characteristics and requirements. In countless
situations, there are 100s, even 1000s of applicants applying for the same job. It would take
entirely too long to go through the applications one by one, therefore we will use ATS to pick out
resumes with words that fit what we are looking for, then manually go through them and pick
candidates that we feel would make a good fit for our team based on their resume.
Using a multi-hurdle model, discuss the candidate review process.
First, we would use the ATS system to weed out candidates that do not match the
description of what the position calls for. After ATS weeds out candidates and we manually pick
candidates to interview, there will be two different interviews. The first one will be with their
direct supervisor and human resource manager. After the first interview, if we like the candidate,
we will call them in for a second interview with multiple executives from the hospital to make
sure everyone is on board with the final hiring decisions made.
How will the final job candidate be selected and notified?
After the second interview, a collective conversation would take place between all the
executives that were present during the final stage of the interview process. All executives will
state their top candidates and the reason that candidate should receive the position. The final
decision will be made by the human resource manager with consideration to the executives’
opinions. There will be an email sent to the candidate notifying them that they have been selected
to receive the position. The candidate will also be called and left a voicemail if they do not
answer.
Part II:
1.) How have you used your skills and abilities to help your previous organization?
This will help you identify who they are and what abilities they possess. With
elaboration it will also uncover their belief of how they fit and effect a workforce.
2.) Tell me about how you had to perform under pressure in the workplace?
This statement will give you a sense of their mental fortitude and how they go
about dealing with high stress situations.
3.) How do you approach adversity?
This statement has the same effect as last statement, but it is a broader question
which will lead to a deeper explanation to their perception to challenges in the
workplace.
4.) Have you ever made a mistake in the workplace? If so, how did you deal with your error?
This question will give you a sense of honesty and truth in your candidate.
Everyone has made a mistake in the workplace; did they own the mistake and
notify someone to right that wrong? If they can’t name a mistake, that isn’t a good
sign for the candidate.
5.) Tell me one time about how you reached a goal in your previous workplace?
This question will give insight on their work ethic and vision. First, it will show
you the caliber of foals they set. Secondly, the question will show their approach
and drive towards achieving something they set their mind to.
