LIFE ON THE ICE
o
Dr. Caputo is a research astrophysicist at the
NASA Goddard Space Flight Center and is
part of multiple deep space telescope teams.
She analyzes messages sent out when a
really large star explodes into supernovae.
Some of those stars will actually become
black holes. Dr. Caputo's research helps
reveal the secrets of our galaxy and the
universe beyond.

Dr. Boisvert is a sea ice scientist and the
deputy project scientist for NASA's Operation
IceBridge. Her team measures how the ice
changes at the north and south pole from
year to year. Dr. Boisvert's work helps
biologists study how the changing glaciers
affect the habitat of polar bears, penguins, and
other polar organisms.

The classroom teacher can send artwork
to their district planetarium via campus
mail.

student's teacher by April 15, 2022.

artwork to their district
planetarium by April 20, 2022,
through campus mail.
Winners
All students who participate will
receive a certificate and button badge.
Top winners will receive an
autographed children's book by one
of the two NASA scientists.

drawing, a painting, a craft
project, legos, ceramics,
pottery, yard art, needlework,
carpentry, board games, etc.
If the artwork is too large to
bring to school or is digital,
you can take pictures and
share the pictures or the
digital art with us at

Dr. Caputo es astrofísico investigador en el Centro

Dr. Boisvert es científico del hielo marino y
