Exercise 1: To develop the system described in the Exercise we must do the following: 1. Create the module “Create” using the next values for create the Individuals to purchase plates or renew the license: 2. After that we have to assign the attribute for each entity after the entity creates, so we use the module “Assign” with the following values: 3. Then, we have some instructions to follow. First the problem says that the services follow a triangular distribution, so we set this in the module “Process”. After that it says that there is a quantity of people intended to serve the two processes and one person that can do both. For this we create two groups in “Set” where the common person is the team leader and we put this set into the module as we can see in the image. WE do this in the two process. 4. Finally, to know what is the time of each type of customer is we use a “Record” module to do this, for this we use the attribute that we assign before. Results for Exercise 1: The number out of the system is 108. It means that 108 customers use the system for purchase a plate or renew their license. About the time in the system for customers that purchase a plate and renew their license are 18.2479 and 29.7050 respectively. Exercise 2: We use the same model as in the first exercise. We only change the rows in “Set”. We add Kathy for the “Renew License” set. Results for Exercise 2: The number out of the system is 110. It means that 110 customers use the system for purchase a plate or renew their license. About the time in the system for customers that purchase a plate and renew their license are 19.0439 and 28.6133 respectively. If we compare these values with ones in the Exercise 1, we can observe a increase for the customers that purchase plates and a lower value for those ones that go to renew their licenses. It occurs because we use the resources for the first process to do both process and we do not compensate for this overload. Exercise 3: For this last exercise we just have to set a schedule (Schedule for Exercise 3) and apply them in the resources that we already have. Results for Exercise 3: The number out of the system is 111. It means that 111 customers use the system to purchase a plate or renew their license. About the time in the system for customers that purchase a plate and renew their license are 22.9571 and 30.9873 respectively. For this exercise the values increase because the resources leave the system for 30 minutes, but the quantity of customers served is the same.
