REFLECTION JOURNAL ENTRY QUARTER IV The Fourth Quarter topics in Filipino IV is all about El Filibusterismo. . El Filibusterismo also known as the reign of greed. It is the second novel written by Dr. Jose Rizal, our national Hero. It is the sequel to Noli Me Tangere and like the first book was written in Spanish and it was first published in 1891. The students were given the activity wherein they were going to identify the characters in the first chapter of the book. Along with this activity they were able to explain the role of each character and how their role affects the students. Like the Bapor Tabo wherein they learn the discriminations and injustice during that time. They were able to reflect on the situations to the present life. The students were able to understand the reasons why Dr. Jose Rizal was very persistent to his decisions to write novels like Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo for the purpose of awakening the Filipinos to fight for what is wright. As the lesson on the life works and writings of Dr. Jose Rizal progresses, I feel that the students were challenged to be good citizens of the Philippines and to be law abiding people of our country. They learned to challenge themselves to be strong and independent individuals. We ended with a belief that Jose Rizal is worth to be the National Hero of the Philippines. REFLECTION JOURNAL ENTRY QUARTER I As the first quarter started I believed that the students needs the review on basic topics in Filipino 10. Basically they were given the chance to review on the different Literary pieces. They were able to identify and define the different literary pieces. Each were discussed and examples were given. The were tasked to look for examples of each of the literary pieces; write those on the short bond papers and have theme passed to the teacher. These served as there output for the first quarter period. One of the most exciting part was the activity focusing on writing a poem. They were tasked to write a poem entitled “ Ang Aking Ina.” They were only given 30 minutes to do the activity. Everybody were very serious in doing the activity. I was affected with the outputs of the students. I cant help but cry while reading the poems they made. I feel that the activity was really useful knowing that the mothers are the most beloved people of the world. REFLECTION JOURNAL QUARTER II In line with the topic Ang Motolohiya, the students were able to define what is mitolohiya, identify the Greek gods and goddesses and their characteristics. There stories of survival wherein students were able to reflect and learn some lessons in life. Just like the love story of Cupid and Psyche which depicts on the power of love. The lovers were very persistent and strong enough to fight challenges for the sake of their love for each other. One of the exciting activities that we had was the film viewing. The film was entitled “Wonder Woman.” The learners enjoyed so much watching upon Diana and Aries fighting using their extraordinary power. At the end Diana or Wonder Woman won the fight. It was a proof that good things will always prevail. It was not a regret on my part having this activity for I know that using visual like film showing is more an effective strategy for students to enjoy while learning. REFLECTION JOURNAL ENTRY QUARTER III After taking up some grammar points on the third quarter modules in Filipino 10 I decided to give some time in discussing the story of Romeo and Juliet. It is a love that everybody knows but sad to say many of us cannot detail the whole story. The love story of Romeo and Juliet were clearly discussed in the class. The students were tasked to write a storyline of Romeo and Juliet for the purpose of knowing the skill of writing a storyline. One of the exciting activities is that the students were given the chance to perform on stage in the form of a play. They were given 5 days to memorize the important lines of every character of the story and another 2 days to practice the play. The play was played with costume and sound effects and with stage decorations. The play was successfully performed by the 4 sections in grade 10. It was one of the great performances that we had since I was able to see the acting skills of the students as well as their artistic skills in providing appropriate costume and stage design.
