Simple Sentences
A simple sentence states one complete idea or thought. It has a subject (the
person or thing that does the verb/action) and a predicate (the rest of the
sentence). Simple sentences will only have one verb.
Complete the following activity:
1. Underline the subjects in the following
sentences:
a. Miguel loves to run.
b. Inara and Kokui went for a swim.
c. Kayla loves to sing.
d. Jo-Steve and his family went to KFC.
e. Tatum is good at dancing.
2. Underline the predicate in the following sentences:
a. Adam loves his sister.
b. Reef loves the book he is reading.
c. Kgosi is wearing a beautiful shirt.
d. Tatum loves to talk to Kokui.
