In Indian Poultry farming Japanese Quail plays an important role. It requires less
space to stock more Quails and get good Profit. The Quail can complete its growth within 5
to 6 weeks, so the time taken to culture a period is not more than 6 weeks, for Layer (egg)
purpose the Quail is required to attain 10 weeks and .
Farming Technique
Now a days long sheds are not used for farming Japanese Quail, it is easy to start a
farming in a Cage which can be stacked one above the other which will reduce space.

Brooder
Brooder can be set with a sheet of 1ft height, circular with 1 meter Dia broode. House can
hold upto 250 quail, so we require at least 4 brooder house to hold up to 1000 quails, to
start with 4 Brooder house is advisable, adequate light is required to maintain the
temperature of the brooder house
Farming Cage
After 2 weeks quail chicks transferred to stacking cage the quail will attain 150 to 200
grams after 5 weeks, the quail attain its market size after 5 to 6 weeks.
