Which theory have you selected to write about for your Short Critical Analysis? Why?

I have decided to write about Shaw & McKay’s Social
Disorganization Theory for my Critical Analysis Essay. The
reason for selecting this topic is that I agree with this theory
more than the other theories. This theory believes that where
a person lives is more important than their personal
characteristics when predicting criminal activity. Shaw &
McKay argue that crime tends to be concentrated in
particular areas. These high crime neighbourhoods have a
high crime rate regardless of which racial group resides there.
