RATIONALE:
ELLN Program aims to improve the reading skills of K to 3 learners and the school
continuously conducts LAC Sessions that will talk about the implementation of such programs
of the Department of Education.

LAC sessions encourage reading development, reading programs and reading difficulties
amongst teachers which increases the understanding and knowledge of the curriculum and
classroom practices.
Also, the ELLN LAC session capacitates teacher from K to 3 teacher and strengthen their
knowledge about reading to lessen the non reader.

OBJECTIVES:
The activity aims to:
A. To describe the nature and factors affecting reading;
B. To identify the learners characteristics with reading and writing difficulties
and
C. To formulate strategies and activities which are appropriate in addressing
reading and written language difficulties

EXPECTED OUTPUT:
At the end of the session, the following output/outcome are expected to the
participants:
1. 100% of the K to 3 teacher participants will be able to describe the
reading and writing difficulties of K to 3 learners.
2. 100% of the K to 3 teacher participants will be able to explain
strategies/techniques for pupil’s with reading and writing difficulties
4for discussion.
3. Four out of 4 teaching personnel or 100% will be able to create
reading and writing intervention44 for discussion by the K to 3
Teachers.
