However, there is always a question raised upon the subject of the ethicality of those zoos. Like any other institution, zoos have their pros and cons. Those advantages and disadvantages will be discussed throughout this essay. To begin with, zoos are known to entertain humans at the expense of those poor animals. When zoos hold animals into cages, animals are fed less than they need and are injected with tranquilizers. All this causes the animal to be very worn-out and have extensive fatigue. And the animal must endure all this for humans’ entertainment. Secondly, keeping animals away from their biomes can cause the animal detrimental physical and mental health issues. According to a study conducted in University of Colorado, 70% of animals suffer either death or terminals health issues from being captivated in cages and away from their natural habitat. However, zoos also have some advantages. Zoos help scientists and zoologists to easily study those animals easily. For example, almost every animal discovery has been made by the help of zoologists observing animals in the zoo. And furthermore, zoos can help to keep endangered species from extinction. When animals are in the forest, MALAK TAMER 10/B they may be hunted and are exposed to extinction, but with the help of a safely organized and professional zoo these animals may have the opportunity to reproduce in safe, comfortable, almost-home environment . As you can see zoos have many pros and cons, even more then mentioned in this essay, however I believe that the cons outweigh the pros and zoos should be banned as they’re unethical and they’re based on the ideology of the superiority of humans. Zoos disrespect the freedom of the agents of our beautiful nature and keeps its freedom locked in and caged
