Podcast – Peer Feedback Sheet Structural Elements I. Intro: Are the name of the show and the name of the speaker introduced clearly? II. What type of hook is used? (e.g. question / example/background noises) III. Main portion a. Does the beginning of the main portion flow well from the hook? (i.e. Is there an obvious lead-in to the topic?) b. Is all the background information given relevant? c. Is the crux of the issue clearly pointed out? IV. Outlook / Wrapping up a. Is a suitable solution / idea presented for moving forward? V. Outro: Is there an appropriate sign-off message? Linguistic Elements I. Find at least 3 examples of what you consider to be conversational tone in your partner’s transcript. Note them below. For each one, determine if the tone is fitting for what is being said. II. Find some examples of short sentences and longer sentences. Then, discuss whether they are appropriate where they are or if the podcast would be better served if they were changed. III. Look for examples of questions. For any that you find, do they serve their purpose? (e.g. questions without answers / questions that are then answered by the speaker) IV. Find at least 3 instances of linking phrases. How well do they serve their purpose? Delivery I. Unclear words: While listening to your partner’s podcast, note any times (literally the timestamps) where words were unclear. ----------------------------------- II. Intonation and Emphasis: Find two spots that may need work in terms of intonation (use time stamps).
