sportsmen have
changed
from
year of 1970 to
year of 2000
based on three
different sports
(baseball,
football,
and
basketball), which the salary will be represented by US dollars. Overall, the trend of salary of three
different sports are quite the same at the beginning but the difference is more pronounced at the end
of the period.
Looking at beginning of period, salary that sports’ player received in baseball, football, and basketball
stood at the same number, which is around 100,000 dollars. Until year of 1980, the trend of salaries of
these three sports increased at the approximately 250,000 dollars.
After 1975, salaries of athletes from each sports started to be diverged. Being the highest, salary of
basketball increased significantly and reach at about 2,250,000 in year of 2000. Following this, the
second highest salary of sportsmen was basketball which experienced an increasing as well and
eventually stood at about 1,750,000 dollars. While, in terms of football, although experiencing a
decreased trend, the salary was higher at the end of period compared to the beginning, which was
about 750,000 dollars.
