Computer controlled system By: Phone Kyaw Khant Ti Kyi Kha Automated system For a system to be fully automated and operate independently of a human, it combines several different component parts. The three important components of an automated system are: • sensors • a microprocessor • actuators Sensor Sensors are devices or instruments that detect and measure physical properties or changes in the environment and convert them into signals or data that can be interpreted by humans or other machines. Here are some common types of sensors: Temperature-Sensor Temperature Sensors measure the temperature of the environment There are different types of sensors available and they each use different technologies and principles to take the temperature measurement. Pressure Sensor Pressure Sensor: Detects and measures pressure changes in gases or liquids. Proximity Sensor Proximity Sensor: Determines the presence or absence of an object within a certain range without physical contact. Motion Sensor Motion Sensor: Detects movement or changes in an object's position. Light Sensor Light Sensor: Measures the intensity of light in the surrounding environment. Humidity Sensor Humidity Sensor: Measures the amount of moisture or humidity in the air. Microprocessor A microprocessor is a single integrated circuit containing a central processing unit (CPU) that serves as the brain of a computer system. It executes instructions stored in memory, performs arithmetic, logic, and control operations. Actuators Actuators turn electrical signals into physical outputs such as movements. When all three of these components work together, automatic instructions become movements. These movements may be repeated infinitely, depending on the objective of the automated system.
