Examination Technique: Answers have to be neat, tidy, orderly and well laid out Badly written figures should be avoided Proper heading should always be given and any dates needed should be inserted All workings must be shown Use account names given in the questions Use proper corresponding account names in double-entry account (T-account) Include descriptions in all statements Don’t use short forms of any kind (Abbreviations are not accepted. e.g. Profit and loss; NOT P&L Accumulated depreciation; NOT Acc. Dep. December; NOT Dec.) Time planning: - calculate time per question: Paper 1 MCQ – not more than 45 min Short questions – roughly 10 min for 10-mark question Paper 2 – roughly 16 min for 10-mark question - do the easiest question first (not necessarily in numerical order) - attempt each and every question to fulfill the examination requirement Do not annoy the examiner by not starting your answer on a separate page If you do not know the answer, or part of an answer, you should guess (you do not lose mark for guessing)
