Examination Technique:

Answers have to be neat, tidy, orderly and well laid out

Badly written figures should be avoided

Proper heading should always be given and any dates needed should be inserted

All workings must be shown

Use account names given in the questions

Use proper corresponding account names in double-entry account (T-account)

Include descriptions in all statements

Don’t use short forms of any kind
(Abbreviations are not accepted.
e.g. Profit and loss; NOT P&L
Accumulated depreciation; NOT Acc. Dep.
December; NOT Dec.)

Time planning:
- calculate time per question:
Paper 1 MCQ – not more than 45 min
Short questions – roughly 10 min for 10-mark question
Paper 2 – roughly 16 min for 10-mark question
- do the easiest question first (not necessarily in numerical order)
- attempt each and every question to fulfill the examination requirement

Do not annoy the examiner by not starting your answer on a separate page

If you do not know the answer, or part of an answer, you should guess
(you do not lose mark for guessing)
