Sample Size Sample size refers to the size of the population or representatives which were extracted from the population size (Omniconvert, 2023). Our sample size of 100 people is therefore a representation of the population to get a more in-depth knowledge of alcoholism in the construction industry. Simple random method was used to obtain data, whilst creating equal opportunity for anyone to be selected, for its cost-effectiveness, selection to not be bias and time conveniency. Data Collection Method The strategies and procedures used to collect data for research purposes are known as data collecting methods. Surveys, interviews, observations, focus groups, and experiments are some of the data collection techniques (Bhat, 2019). For a method that is not time consuming and costly we chose the survey questionnaire method, a printed set of questions that are open-ended and allows for the elimination of being bias. Open-ended questions are used due to the nature of qualitative research (Hotjar.com, 2023) as the researcher should be more focused on the quality of the feedback to collect qualitative information and learn more about users' attitudes, feelings, and actions (Dube, 2019) The process of data collection The questionnaire was handed out and some emailed to selected respondents from 23rd April until 26 May 2023*. Major focused district was Johannesburg whilst texts and mail was sent to respondents nearby provinces such as Mpumalanga, North West and the Limpopo Province. Constructions were located randomly, and participants were chosen randomly on their willingness to operate. Once completed all questionnaire have been collected and received then can researchers begin interpretating data. Question Type The use of open-ended question is that researchers can get a better understanding of the research when participants are given freedom to speak honestly and truthfully whilst remaining anonymous. Due to long distance, some questionnaires were filed in closed space, but most done in open space for safety and security reasons. Questionnaire draft Reference Bhat, A. (2019).
