Globalization • "Ireland has a parliamentary democratic government, which means people for for people to become a part of a parliament. These people then make the laws. The people in the parliament will vote by majority on the laws that are made, they are signed of by someone higher up, however that person does not have any veto against the laws" • Trading is a very big part of Irelands international business. Political/Legal Landscape • Ireland is parliamentary democratic government meaning that the people make the laws. The laws are voted on by majority by parliament and signed. • Ireland is a part of the Security Council which had veto power over 5 countries. Economic Development & Trends, Development Index • Ireland ranked 8 on the HDI which is higher than the US • Ireland ranked #3 in economic freedom • I think the economy is established, but there is always room for improvement. Culture and Religion Ireland is predominantly Roman Catholic. In Ireland they hold a wake when someone dies. They tell stories, drink and smoke near the deceased. They believe that death should be celebrated. Ethical Considerations, Corruptions Ireland has a CPI score of 77/100 and ranked 10/180. They have good labor laws with whistleblower protection, 8 different work permits, mediation, unfair dismisal, and business takeovers. This means that there is a lot of land with cows. Covid effected Irelands production as it did most of the world because exports and imports were halted or slowed. Marketing & Advertising Ireland spent around 1,233.6 on advertising in 2022. Marketing and Advertising is very popular and effective in Ireland. HR Management Expat manager should know the language of the country they will be working with. There are a lot of different staffing approaches, but I like the Ethnocentric approach to staffing approach. Current Events and Fun Facts Ireland has a phenomena in the land called Giants' Causeway. It is basalt that has naturally formed into perfect hexagons.
