World No
Tobacco Day
01
smoking is the inhalation of the smoke of
burned tobacco that may occur
occasionally or habitually as a consequence
of a physical addiction to some chemicals,
primarily nicotine
02
When you smoke the smoke destroys your
cilia, the dirt and pollution stays in your
lungs, along with chemicals from the
cigarette smoke. The pollution and dirt in
the lungs can increase the risk of lung
cancer, chest infections, and chronic cough.
Smoking also damages the alveoli, or air
sacs, in the lungs.
03
Secondhand smoke contributes to
approx 41,000 deaths among
nonsmoking adults and 400 deaths
in infants each year. Secondhand
smoke causes stroke, lung cancer,
and coronary heart disease in
adults.
“We need food,

"Everytime you light up a
cigarette you are saying
that your life is not worth
living"
