The Classic Pandesal Recipe
Soft and Fluffy
INGREDIENTS:
1 cup warm milk (250ml)
¼ cup butter (55g)
1 egg
2 tsp instant yeast (6g)
3 ¼ cup all-purpose flour (405g)
¼ sugar (50g)
1 tsp salt (5g)
2 tablespoons of oil for the bowl
½ breadcrumbs

PROCEDURE:
 In large bowl mix 1 cup warm milk,
1/4 cup butter,
1 egg, 2 tsp instant yeast.
 Add the rest of the dry ingredients- 3
1/4 cup all-purpose
flour, 1/4 cup sugar, 1 tsp salt.
 Mix until combined.
 Let it rest for 20 minutes, uncovered.
 Sprinkle some flour and transfer to a
clean counter.
 Knead until the dough is smooth,
around 7 minutes.
 Form into a ball and place in an oiled
bowl.
 Cover for an hour or until doubled in
size.
 Press the dough to remove the gas.
 Divide into 18 pieces.
 Form into a ball, pinch the seams to
seal.
 Roll under your palm to smoothen.
 Dredge into breadcrumbs.
 Place in a sheet pan next to each
other.
 Cover and let it rest in a warm place
until doubled in size.
 Bake in a preheated oven for 18-20
minutes at 180 degrees Celsius.
