Input and Output devices and write at least 2 points for each requirement:
Ques. 1)
Input Devices:
Device
Barcode scanner
QR code scanner
2D and 3D scanners
Digital camera
Benefits/Drawbacks
Uses
Benefits: They can be used to calculate the prices and
get out of the problem of asking employees manually,
They can also be used for calculating total by inserting
the barcode of multiple objects and calculating the total
without the use of a calculator
1ST Use: Shops can use the barcodes to list the prices of
certain items for ex clothes, food, canned goods.
Drawback: If the barcode of certain items is worn out
then it’s impossible to calculate the price of it, You need
barcode scanners to find the prices, so buying the
scanners are very costly.
2nd Use: They can be used to track and manage certain
orders, for ex when we order an item from daraz it always
comes with a barcode on it to figure what item it is
Benefits: They are very efficient, they reduce errors
produced by humans, they also save money by the
prevention of production of paper for ex: menus, letters,
etc., They enhance customer services, they also can
provide analytical feedbacks
1ST Use: Restaurants can use QR Codes for their menus,
and can also use the codes for getting feedbacks from the
customers.
Drawback: Hackers could mislead people into
installing viruses into their devices, Worn-Out QR codes
are unable to work, They also need consistent
maintenance checkups unlike normal papers.
2nd Use: QR codes can be used to redirect people to
certain links very easily despite typing the link manually
into the search bar, People can also avail certain offers
given by certain companies.
Benefits: 2d and 3d scanners can be used to input
information on certain objects or papers into the
computer, And they are high in flexibility meaning they
can be used to insert information of basically anything
1ST Use: Scanners are used to scan barcodes and QR codes
of certain items to find out their prices
Drawback: They are very high in cost, they are limited
to only 2D and 3D and since 1D is more common they
can’t be used on them.
2nd Use: They are used to finding out the what item is
placed inside the package by scanning their barcodes
Benefits: They can be used to store certain images into
the micro SD’s which can be later transferred inside the
computer, Most Digital cameras or you can say all the
cameras are high quality and can take pictures very well
1ST Use: They are used to take pictures on memorable
occasions of a family
Drawback: They are extremely fragile meaning that
once they are dropped they can break easily, but not
most of the cameras are that fragile, If the micro SD is
damaged (Which is common) the data and all the images
are lost. Which is why people have switched to Mobiles
2nd Use: Pictures can be transferred to laptops and
computers meaning that they can be framed very easily

Keyboard
Benefits: The main benefits of a keyboard are that it can
be used to input characters inside the computer
commonly known as typing, aside from that it can be
used on a fast pace and by a detachable keyboard we can
carry it anywhere for our use
Drawback: The keys inside the keyboard can be broken
and not work at all which interferes extremely with our
work, a detachable microphones wire could have some
faults which may lead to the components of the
keyboard being destroyed
Optical Mouse
Microphone
o Resistive
2nd Use: Many writers use keyboards and write their books
online as it’s faster and more reliable than writing with a
pen
Benefits: An Optical Mouse is very useful on navigating
on your device, they are also very helpful in scrolling on
pages and navigating
1ST Use: They are used to scroll and navigate on websites
and is main part of a pc, without it the pc is unable to be
used

keyboards they can be damaged which is a big hassle,
and another drawback is that they are very fragile and
become useless within 4-5 months
2nd Use: Although their main use is to be used for
navigations on Pc’s, They are also used widely in gaming
fields for aiming, shooting etc.
Benefits: They are very helpful in communicating with
people on Video Calls, Voice calls etc., They are also
used to communicate with people on a large scale by the
help of a speaker.
1ST Use: They are used in assemblies of schools to instruct
the students and carry out the morning assembly.
Drawback: They are extremely costly in terms of
communicating on a large scale and they can be broken
very easily which may make some audio interruptions
Touch screen
1ST Use: They are used to type and insert information on
the computer
Benefits: They can be used and operated by any object
for example an stylus pencil like in Samsung phones use
resistive touch screen to make the pencil work, They are
also very durable since there are two screens working to
make the resistive technology work.
2nd Use: They are also used in gaming fields just like the
Optical Mouse to communicate with your friends while
gaming.
1ST Use: They are used in certain malls and shops to
provide feedback and to order stuff in restaurants just like

that they can sometimes lead to unintended touches
which may interfere, and they also offer limited
operability if you are wearing some types of glove or
something.
2nd Use: They are also used in cars like having an LED in
our cars for music
Benefits: They are extremely durable as they are made
of tempered glass, and also they give clear image quality
1ST Use: They are used on ATM’s
Drawback: They offer limited touch resolution and they
are very fragile to ambient lights only like sunlight,
lasers etc
2nd Use: They are also used on factory automations
o infra-red
